MARTINSVILLE, Va. - E. Larry Ryder, longtime chief financial officer at Hooker Furniture, will retire Jan. 31, the company announced.
Ryder has been with the company for 33 years, and most recently held the title of CFO and executive vice president of finance and administration.
"During his years with the company, he had made vital contributions, including helping us change our business model and stay financially viable the entire way through, while building the strongest team in our company's history in the areas of accounting and finance, information technology and human resources," said Paul Toms, chairman and CEO.
Following Ryder's retirement, Toms said the CFO role will be assumed by Paul Huck-feldt, currently the company's chief accounting officer.
Toms said Huck-feldt "has been a great manager with a tremendous work ethic who is very capable and respected throughout the organization."
