FONTANA, Calif. — Case goods and upholstery manufacturer New Classic Home Furnishings has promoted general manager Michele McPherson to vice president, a new position.
It also has named longtime sales manager Robert Jarrard vice president of sales, also a new position, and Carlos Morales vice president of manufacturing. Morales has been head of research and development at New Classic for six years.
McPherson has been with the company just over eight years, having largely worked with the sales and marketing team. Reporting to company President Jean Tong, she will still work with sales and marketing but also will oversee all internal operations, including warehousing and finance.
As vice president of sales, Jarrard, who has worked for New Classic since late 2002, will primarily cover the eastern and southeastern United States.

Scott Hill, who has just joined the company as a vice president of sales, will oversee the West and Midwest regions. He comes to the company from Powell, where he was vice president of sales. Before joining Powell earlier this year, he was vice president of sales at Coaster of America's Private Reserve division, and earlier had been with Ashley as vice president of sales for that company's Millennium Division.
Hill and Jarrard report to Rob Hoffman, executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Morales, who also reports to Tong, will continue to oversee product development and quality control at the company's China production facilities. His responsibilities have been expanded alongside the recent growth of those facilities.
"These moves and additions are designed to enhance the service to our customers and manage our growth," said Tong, who formed New Classic 10 years ago this December. "Our team has a wealth of experience in the furniture industry, and they are all dedicated to constantly improving the products and systems we offer our retail partners."
At this week's High Point Market, New Classic is showing in the International Home Furnishings Center, space M-931.
