PICO RIVERA, Calif. — Full-line furniture source AICO has promoted Chuck Reilly to senior vice president of sales and marketing and has hired David Koehler as vice president of sales, Reilly's former job.
Koehler most recently was senior vice president of sales for high-end furniture importer Theodore Alexander USA.
"Moving forward, Chuck's largest single responsibility will be helping to direct the marketing of the company," said AICO President Martin Ploy. He said Reilly, a former Lane executive who joined AICO in August of 2009, also will focus on planning and sales strategies.
"Chuck has quickly gained respect from both sales people and customers, and has become a critical force in the senior management of AICO," said Ploy.
He said Koehler will work with Reilly in analyzing sales performance and territory assignments and on creating new dealer programs. Since AICO's structure does not include regional vice presidents, Koehler also will spend time with customers to make sure the company is "always in sync with them," Ploy said.

"Aside from being a leader on the basketball court at the University of Washington, David's background has been in sales and various executive positions with high-end importers Maitland-Smith, the Theodore Alexander division of Sherrill Furniture and more recently, with Theodore Alexander USA. This kind of experience will enhance our management expertise and expand our growth efforts," Ploy said.
He said that despite the challenging economy, AICO's sales and dealer base have continued to grow. The company attributes much of the success to its Michael Amini Original Furniture Designs collection and the recent addition of the Michael Amini and Jane Seymour, A Design Collaboration line.
AICO has expanded its marketing department and also has added staff to its customer service and top-of-bed departments, and has made hires in logistics and international operations, Ploy said.
"The ability to add staff during these challenging times is positive and motivating to all employees, sales people and to our customers," he said.
AICO CEO Michael Amini added, "I am so pleased to see the sales dynamics, excitement and enthusiasm that this company is currently experiencing. Our ability to attract and add important people to our company is a real testament to our current high level of quality employees and management."
