Hickory at Home offers top-of-bed display concept
Final Touch program aimed at boosting retail sales

AT THE MARKET - Aiming to give retailers more ammunition to drive sales in a challenging economy, Hickory at Home is unveiling a "store-within-a-store" selling concept here called The Final Touch.
The top-of-bed program has been under development for months. It is designed to give traditional bedding retailers the tools to supplement their mattress and bedding hardware sales with a full sleep accessories program.
Retailers can choose from three footprints - 300 square feet, 150 square feet or 75 square feet. Each layout can be fully stocked with a wide range of top-of-bed accessories such as sheets, pillows, down comforters and mattress pads, company officials said.
"Retailers who are only selling mattresses, headboards and bed rails are leaving a lot of money on the sales floor," said Niles Cornelius, general manager. That's where Hickory at Home's Final Touch comes in.
"Before Final Touch, retail customers would have to visit two different stores to get all their mattresses, bed hardware and top-of-bed accessories. But now retailers who buy into the Final Touch store-within-a-store will be able to keep bedding customers - and their money - in their store by making it a destination for buying all of their bedding products and accessories in one place," he said.
Cornelius said the Final Touch program gives retailers the ability to "immediately open up a lucrative new revenue stream without investing the time, effort or money to research or merchandise the top-of-bed product mix themselves."
Hickory at Home has assembled an accessories lineup that will enable retailers to quickly floor the products and begin selling them, he said.

Dwayne Welch, executive vice president of Hickory Springs, says the new sleep accessories program will meet customers' needs.
"The Hickory at Home division is dedicated to creating products and components that are innovative, while also offering our customers the highest quality and comfort in the bedding industry," he said. "Final Touch delivers on that promise.
Hickory at Home produces and distributes exclusive lines of futon frames and mattresses, youth furniture, memory foam pillows and daybeds that are sold through furniture stores, sleep shops and other retailers, the company said
