Clayton Marcus co-founder Joe Teague dies at 78

In 1960, Teague helped found Clayton Marcus with his father, Clayton Marcus Teague, and his brothers. Joe Teague remained with the company until 1984 when it was to Ladd Inds. He retired that same year. Clayton Marcus is now owned by Rowe Fine Furniture.
Before launching the business, Teague was a staff sergeant in the Air Force Intelligence Service during the Korean War.
Teague was active in his community and was a member of the Lenoir-Rhyne Foundation, American Legion Post 43 and the Elks. He also helped found the Arts & Science Center of Catawba Valley.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, three brothers, 10 godchildren, six great-godchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
