ST. LOUIS - Weekends Only Furniture Outlet has hired industry veteran Ray Humphrey as senior merchandise manager.
He is responsible for selection, sales, merchandising and profitability for the Top 100 company's master bedroom, dining room, youth bedroom and outdoor furniture categories.
He reports to Doug Cooksey, former senior merchandise manager at Weekends Only, who was promoted to general merchandise manager.
He joins the St. Louis-based five-store company with more than 25 years in the industry, most recently as a case goods buyer for Pinellas Park, Fla.-based Kane's Furniture, where he worked since 2008. Previously, he was merchandise manager for Castleberry's Fine Furniture in Atlanta and also held buyer positions with the former Leath Furniture and Rich's department store.
Weekends Only, which offers bargain pricing on special buys and truckload purchases during its Friday, Saturday and Sunday store hours, has five metro St. Louis locations with another on the way in Manchester, Mo., early next year.
