Sales representative Walter Joseph McCorkle Sr. dies at 86

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Walter Joseph McCorkle Sr., who spent most of his career as a sales representative in the home furnishings industry, died Dec. 26. He was 86.
After graduating from Auburn University, McCorkle worked as an insurance adjuster and was a rep for the Amana Refrigeration Corp. before joining the sales forces of Stanley Furniture and other home furnishings companies.
He is survived by a brother, five children and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at St. Peter's Catholic Church here.
