HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings has hired former Kohl's executive Chris Capuano as a corporate senior vice president and president - Home Fashions.
Capuano will be responsible for the oversight, leadership and growth of in-store and online merchandising of home fashions for both the Sears and the Kmart brands. She replaces Douglas Wurl, who is leaving the company.
Most recently, Capuano was executive vice president and general merchandise manager of Kohl's, where she was responsible for the growth and profitability of more than 900 department stores. Earlier, she held merchandising executive posts at Federated Department Stores and Macy's.
"I am eager to welcome another accomplished retail veteran to our team," said Bruce Johnson, interim CEO and president of Sears Holdings. "Chris's experience and track record of results will be a great complement to the transformation already under way with our home and apparel business."
Capuano joins newcomers Robin Michel, formerly president of Giant Foods, as the retailer's new grocery and pharmacy chief, and Lana Cain Krauter, a veteran of Bealls Department Stores and JCPenney, who is president of apparel for Sears stores.
