HIGH POINT — The Southern Home Furnishings Assn. will hold its annual conference June 12-14 at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
An opening workshop entitled "Making Sense of the Social Media Revolution" will be led by Kerry Jo Richards, a Washington-based independent social media marketing coach. The workshop will focus on the basics of social media, including "what it's all about, why (and if) you should participate, the ‘rules' of social media and where to start," according to a release.
The following morning will feature an update on current legislative issues that affect the retail home furnishings industry, along with retailer-to-retailer roundtable discussions.
"Conference is an excellent opportunity for retailers to come together, learn together and share best ideas while networking with industry peers," said SHFA President Gary Woodham of Colfax Furniture in Greensboro, N.C.
The registration fee is $49 for members and guests. Non-members, and members who have not attended a conference in the past three years, are being offered complimentary registration and one free night's stay at the host hotel.
