Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 4, 2011
TUPELO, Miss. — Carroll Passmore, a sales representative for Harden Mfg., was awarded the Manufacturer's Rep Award at a presentation at the Tupelo Furniture Market.
Passmore was unable to attend the market. His son, Ronnie, also a rep for Harden, accepted on his behalf.
Harden has been Carroll Passmore's primary line since 1983. He also has repped for Brooks Furniture, Rose Hill and Symbol Mattress. He lives in Thomasville, N.C., and reps Harden in the western half of North Carolina while his son reps the eastern half.
Other awards presented to Passmore during his career include Harden's Salesman of the Year award in 1997, and recognition by the company in 1998 and 1999 for "outstanding performance, concern and support." In 2005, he received the highest sales volume award from CTC Furniture Distributors in Ramseur, N.C.
Passmore began his furniture career in 1962 as a truck driver for Staley Furniture, working his way up to plant manager and sales rep until it closed in the mid-1970s. He then repped for the nowdefunct Ken Campbell Upholstery in North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia before joining Harden.
