Peoploungers in larger HP space
Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, March 4, 2011

One of Peoploungers’ intros for High Point is Dancer, a contemporary scooped arm recliner with a cover combining an oily pull-up leather and a contemporary woven jacquard fabric. It has a pocketed coil seat blended with down feather, a Leggett & Platt mechanism, and is targeted to retail at $799.
IRVING, Texas — The new Peoploungers, part of HFI Brands, plans to move and expand its High Point showroom, add new pieces for the spring market and substantially increase its sales team.
The newly reinvented brand, developed with the notion that "everyone loves to lounge," will move from its original space in Market Square to space 803 of the National Furniture Mart.
HFI Brands introduced the line last fall after acquiring the rights to the brand, whose former owner had gone out of business in 2007.
The new space is about 5,600 square feet, up from 4,000 square feet, allowing the company to showcase its growing collections.
The new showroom is open for this week's High Point Premarket and for the spring market, which opens April 2. The company will introduce some 70 new pieces, adding them to the 200-plus sofas, chairs, motion furniture, home theater, leather and accent furniture designs it brought out in October.
"Our new showroom move marks a very important change for us as a company," said Steve Dinkins, president. "We feel that committing to this space offers retailers a convenient location giving Peoploungers the exposure and traffic it truly needs to be successful this coming year."
Peoploungers also said it is adding around 25 national and international sales representatives.
Dinkins also said the company "couldn't be more thrilled about our new sales team. Their energy will pick up the momentum for our brand recognition, and will play a key role in getting us in front of our target dealers. Between our new showroom space, our revived sales team and the new product we're bringing in, this is going to be a very significant premarket and market for us."
