Retired Texas retailer Fred T. McMinn dies at 94

ODESSA, Texas — Fred T. McMinn, a longtime furniture retailer here, has died at age 94.

McMinn, along with wife Teresa and son Tom, founded McMinn's Furniture here in 1971. The elder McMinn ran the store until his retirement in 1980. Tom McMinn continues to manage the store today.
Prior to founding his own store, Fred McMinn managed furniture and appliance departments for White's Stores in Odessa, Midland and Abilene. He later joined Shepperson's Furniture in San Angelo as vice president.
McMinn is survived by his wife, son, three granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. March 7 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 415 N. Lee, Odessa, Texas 79761.
