Furniture First showroom moves to second floor of Radio Building
Buying group to host business center, seminars and meetings during market
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 10, 2011
HIGH POINT — Furniture First buying group has a new High Point Market showroom location - still in the Radio Building at 164 S. Main St., but now on the second floor.
Serving as more than just a product showcase, the 4,000-square-foot space also will include a business resource center for members with computers, printers, copier and fax machine. A meeting room has space for committee meetings, focus groups, presentations and networking.
At the April 2-7 market, the showroom will feature products including the new Mattress 1st Superior Living Collection of specialty sleep mattresses from Serta. The line features advanced comfort technologies, such as temperature-neutral memory foam and talalay latex foam, according to Furniture First. Highlights of the new group include soft, luxurious fabrics, deep down specialty feels and upscale microsuede borders.
The new showroom also will host a variety of members-only meetings and seminars including a session on energy-efficient LED showroom light bulbs, a discussion of market share analysis, a presentation on in-store signage, a meeting of Furniture First's Mattress Committee, and a discussion of the "best in show" items seen at market.
Furniture First will hold its general membership meeting in an International Home Furnishings Center ballroom here the morning of April 4, during which the buying group's staff and members will share useful retail news and information. Topics will include a report on the private label mattress line, a panel discussion on using social media in a retail setting, and an update on Furniture First's Protection 1st program.
The annual board of directors election will conclude the meeting.
Furniture First has 179 retail members representing 363 storefronts and $1.3 billion in home furnishings and mattress sales.
