ADL to honor Pasquale Natuzzi, Gary Fazio, Kathy Ireland

NEW YORK — The Anti-Defamation League will honor Pasquale Natuzzi of Natuzzi, Gary Fazio of Simmons and Kathy Ireland of Kathy Ireland Worldwide at its annual awards dinner here in June.

The event will take place June 23 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel here.

Natuzzi, president and CEO of leather upholstery source Natuzzi, will receive the ADL's Lifetime Achievement Award.

The son of a cabinet market, he was 19 when he opened a workshop in Italy that made sofas and armchairs. Natuzzi entered the U.S. market in 1985, and the company now a major global supplier of upholstery, particularly leather. Pasquale Natuzzi was inducted into the American Furniture Hall of Fame in 2008.

Fazio, who will receive the American Heritage Award, has almost four decades of bedding manufacturing and retail experience. He joined Simmons in 2010 after nearly 10 years at retailer Mattress Firm as CEO and eventually as chairman. Under his leadership, the company grew from a regional chain into the second largest U.S. bedding retailer in the U.S. Fazio also has worked for Sealy and Federated Department Stores.

Ireland, CEO and chief designer of Kathy Ireland Worldwide, will also receive the American Heritage Award. She founded the marketing and design firm was founded in 1993 and has created licensed products in an array of categories including furniture, top of bed, wall décor, and more. Ireland also has authored six books.

Cocktails for the June 23 event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner to follow.
