Boyle has been with Century since 1988 and was most recently case goods plant manager. In that role, he helped implement a lean manufacturing model, the company said. Previously, he was plant manager for the company's chair and upholstery plant.
In his new role, he will oversee Century's more than 1 million square feet of case goods and upholstery production in Hickory. He reports to Eric Schenk, president and CEO.
"The breadth of Kevin's experience at Century and his knowledge of the industry make him uniquely able to lead and support our continued growth utilizing our manufacturing capabilities to execute our strategic goals," Schenk said in a statement.
The company also has promoted Brandon Mallard to case goods plant manager, where he will oversee production and product development of the case goods line. He has been with the company since 2002 and previously was quality director at the case goods plant. Before that was a superintendent at the company's chair plant for six years. He now reports to Boyle.
"We are fortunate to have this caliber of employees at Century, which enables us to make these promotions internally," Schenk said. "Both Kevin and Brandon possess a depth of manufacturing knowledge that will allow us to strengthen our domestic facilities to better compete in today's business climate."
