Isser, Sauder Honored
IHFRA will Salute Both at Industry Gala

HIGH POINT - Sales representative Ray Isser and manufacturer Kevin Sauder will be honored April 4 with two of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn.'s top awards.
Isser, a longtime member and former president of IHFRA, will receive the group's highest honor, the Harold P. Braun Distinguished Service Award. Sauder, president and CEO of ready-to-assemble furniture and case goods source Sauder Woodworking, will be named a Pillar of the Industry.
Both will be honored at the 17th annual Furniture Industry Awards Gala here on Monday, April 4, during the spring High Point Market.
The Braun award, presented annually for 35 years, goes to a sales rep "who embodies certain qualities and character and has distinguished him or herself on behalf of IHFRA, sales representatives, the industry, and has enhanced by deed and action the image of home furnishings sales representatives in the community and the industry."
Isser has been a member and leader of his Tri-State Chapter of IHFRA since 1978 and also has been active at the national level, serving as IHFRA's 68th president in 2006.
He has participated in all of the group's Washington lobbying efforts and has promoted and represented IHFRA at industry gatherings. He has been an example for newer and younger representatives, the association said.
In more than 30 years in the industry, Isser has represented such lines as Wicker and Cane, King Koil, AICO, 
Isser
Chromcraft, Blackhawk, Stratford/Stratolounger, SLF, Homelegance, SEI, Luke Leather and Barcalounger.
The Pillar of the Industry Award is presented to an industry leader who has distinguished himself with creative work and effort to improve, enhance and benefit relationships among representatives and other segments of the industry. Honorees have shown their commitment to the home furnishings industry, their community and to mankind.
Kevin Sauder has been with family-owned Sauder Woodworking since 1988 and has been its president since 1999. The 76-year-old company is North America's largest manufacturer of RTA furniture and ranks fifth on Furniture/ Today's Top 25 Sources for the U.S. Furniture Market ranking with 2009 shipments of $467 million.
