WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. — Performance fabrics and cleaning products company Crypton has hired Alan A. Barr as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
He succeeds David Littleson, who has left the company, and will report to Crypton co-founders Craig and Randy Rubin.
Barr served in executive positions at several companies, most recently at Sitco & Co., where he was a financial advisor to underperforming companies and financial institutions with a focus on process improvements, banking relationships and corporate strategy.
Previously, Barr was at Libraltar Plastics, holding titles including chief financial officer, vice president of manufacturing and president. Earlier, he was co-founder of Applied Heater Technologies, a manufacturer of heat-related products.
"Alan is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of operating and corporate financial experience," said Randy Rubin. "Because of his entrepreneurial background, he will be a tremendous asset to Crypton during our next stage of growth as we position ourselves as a global supplier of eco-friendly performance fabrics and care products, and as we explore new applications in technology."
Crypton, a supplier to residential furniture manufacturers and other industries, makes fabrics that fend off stains, eliminate odors and repel germs.
