HIGH POINT — The status of case goods and upholstery importer and manufacturer Home Line Inds. and whether it will show at the upcoming market here is uncertain.
On Monday, the company's website was not working, but a customer service employee at the Philadelphia-based company said that Home Line is currently operating on a cash-on-delivery basis.
Home Line Executive Vice President Josh Block did not respond to numerous email and telephone requests Friday and Monday involving the legitimacy of a much circulated letter, purported to be a Home Line internal memo, that said the company had cancelled back orders due to a legal disagreement with its freight forwarder.
The memo added that the company would continue operations at a smaller level and that Home Line's customer service staff would indicate which product would be delivered and which would be canceled.
It's also unclear whether the company will show in its High Point Market space at 314 S. Main St. The purported memo said it would not be showing.
In January, company officials confirmed they had eliminated the positions of three top executives.
Home Line, which is more than four decades old, has distribution centers in Philadelphia, Chicago and High Point and an upholstery manufacturing facility in Asheboro, N.C.
