New Raymond Waites designs debut at GuildMaster

Heath E Combs -- Furniture Today, April 1, 2011

HIGH POINT — Designer Raymond Waites and GuildMaster will introduce a collection of furniture, accent items, seating, lighting and accessories the High Point Market, which officially opens Saturday.
GuildMaster Raymond Waites benchThis Jefferson Library Bench and Ottoman is part of GuildMaster’s New America, Coming Home collection by designer Raymond Waites. The pieces have burnished leather and carved cabriole legs for a classic look.

Called New America, Coming Home, the collection features four groups that will appeal to diverse ages and lifestyles, the company said.

"We are pleased to partner with Raymond Waites in the development of this extraordinary new collection that reflects the integrity of our forebears and the honesty of today's generations," said Steve Crowder, GuildMaster CEO and president.

The collection reflects Waites' modern translation of traditional looks designed for present day living, the company said. The pieces are in solid mahogany, which is replenished with a tree replanting program.

The groups include: American Tradition, a 20-piece group with European influences and weathered aged finishes; American Vintage, a 25-piece group with white, cream, limestone and linen features; American Lodge, with distressed looks and mustard and river rock tones; and American Garden, which was inspired by Chippendale lattice fences and fret motifs found in early private gardens and arboretums.

GuildMaster's High Point showroom is in the C&D Building, spaces 1A and 1G.
