FONTANA, Calif. — Rug and home furnishings importer Safavieh has purchased a 150,000-square-foot distribution center here as its West Coast hub, the local Press-Enterprise reported.
The Port Washington, N.Y.-based company bought the facility from City National Bank for $6.2 million. Warehouse operations are expected to start in May or June.
The 100-year-old company recently opened a warehouse in Ontario and will now have more than 1 million square feet of distribution space in North America, the paper said.
