ASFD conference May 8-10 to focus on ‘Redefining American Design'

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The American Society of Furniture Designers, in conjunction with Metropolis Magazine and host Savannah College of Art and Design, will host a spring conference here May 8-10.
Titled "Furniture Design Summit: Redefining American Design," the conference will include topics such the industry's present and future and "Where Are the American Furniture Designers?"
Panelists will include Jay Reardon of Hickory Chair, Alan Heller of Heller Inc., Gregg Buchbinder of Emeco, Ray Allegrezza of Furniture/Today; Susan Szenasy of Metropolis Magazine and designer Eames Demetrios.
"I am thrilled that ASFD has been able to partner with SCAD and Metropolis to provide an exciting and provocative agenda in a city known for its creativity and hospitality," said ASFD President Dudley Moore Jr. "This is a rare opportunity for the entire furniture community to get together and celebrate and explore furniture design, which is a driving force in our industry and a key to its future."
A limited number of rooms at two hotels within walking distance of the conference are available at reduced rates until April 15.
