‘Made in America' family appearing at V-B showroom

HIGH POINT — A family featured on a "Made in America" segment on ABC News will appear at the Vaughan-Bassett showroom at this week's High Point Market.

Anna and Jon Usry of Dallas will be on hand Saturday, April 2, to answer questions about how they replaced products in their home with goods made in the United States, including a Vaughan-Bassett bedroom set.

The couple was featured on a segment of "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" in February that asked viewers if they could decorate their home entirely with U.S.-made product. The news show then helped the Usrys find domestic products.

After the segment, Vaughan-Bassett said it had a 1,600% increase in Web traffic and sold 100 bedroom sets, which amounted to about $200,000 in retail sales.

Anna and Jon Usry will be in the company's International Home Furnishings Center showroom, in space C-1000, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Vaughan-Bassett also will hold a dealer drawing relating to the news segment. Retailers that sold Vaughan-Bassett product immediately after the airing of the segment will be eligible to win a two-night stay in the hotel of their choice, at a value of up to $1,000.

The Usrys will spend much of the day at Vaughan-Bassett. Company officials will then take them by other market showrooms, focusing on those featured in the "Made in America" segment.
