HOULKA, Miss. — Hunter Davis has been named president of Davis Direct, Centers of High Point and the recently launched Le Noir Leather after the death of his father, Lynn Davis, who was killed when a tornado swept his truck away during the devastating storms last month in Mississippi. For the past two years, Hunter Davis had been working hand-in-hand with his father after completing an internship at Nebraska Furniture Mart after graduation from Mississippi State University.
"The plan all along was to have me eventually take the reins of the company," Davis said. "But now, more than ever, I am committed to completing the vision my father had for this company."
"I am also grateful that I will be supported by the knowledge and expertise from our existing management team, which remains unchanged," he added.
Davis also stressed that anyone involved with the Davis family business is committed and is moving forward. As part of this initiative, the company said the The Centers of High Point will continue business as usual.
He also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of calls, letters and support that his family received on behalf of his father. "I want to thank everyone for the kind words and many prayers, which were a source of great comfort in the time of our loss."
