Simmons launches Beautyrest rebate event

ATLANTA — Bedding major Simmons is launching a Beautyrest Cash & Comfort Rebate Event to boost sales during the Memorial Day period and beyond.
The event started May 15 and runs through July 5. It gives customers a chance to win more than 20,000 rebates worth up to $1,000 and to be automatically entered in a contest to win a weekly rebate of $5,000.
Officials said the promotion is designed to generate excitement for Simmons' new bedding lines, now rolling out at retail, for a redesigned Beautyrest website, and for a new national advertising campaign designed to help draw consumers into stores during the summer sales season.
"The New Beautyrest Cash & Comfort Rebate Event gives consumers fun incentives to purchase the broadest range of comforts in the brand's 86-year history," said Tim Oakhill, executive vice president of marketing at Simmons. "We are excited to round out our campaign and give consumers a deeper connection to our iconic Beautyrest brand."
Simmons is backing its new promotion with a variety of in-store materials, including ceiling danglers, sales sheets, window clings and tent cards, in addition to print ads, television tags and radio scripts.
The company is also kicking off a national advertising campaign for Beautyrest, which is set to run from May 15 through September. The campaign features butterfly images, which will appear in weekly magazines such as People and Parade and on online advertising networks such as CNN, MSNBC and Yahoo.
Simmons also is supporting its new Beautyrest sales push with a redesigned Beautyrest website, Beautyrest.com, designed to give consumers a more simplified and educational mattress-buying experience. The site has information on current sales promotions and also features videos depicting new technologies being used in the flagship Beautyrest line.
