Kas Rugs opening larger DC

CALHOUN, Ga. — Kas Rugs says it will open a new 110,000-square-foot distribution center here in June, with space for expansion.
The new facility will replace a smaller one in New Jersey, and the computer systems, order fulfillment process and warehouse layout will be set up to make the operation as efficient as possible, said Brandon Culpepper, national sales manager for the area rug source.
"We believe that the overall effect of the new facility will be to bring our freight rates down and to make our lead times even quicker than they are now," said Culpepper.
The Georgia facility will be the company's operations headquarters. All other functions will remain at the company's offices in Somerset, N.J.
The company said it also has distributed a new full color catalog, launched a new and more functional website at www.kasrugs.com, provided new marketing materials and photography, and created a Facebook page to educate and learn more from its current and potential customers.
"We are thrilled about the position we have put ourselves in to handle future growth and change in our current economy," said Culpepper.
