Capel Rugs’ new Braid Shop Catalog rooted in legacy
January 10, 2017,
TROY, N.C. – At the core of Capel Rugs’ 100 years in business are its signature braided rugs, and the company is paying homage with a new, special-edition catalog.
Dedicated solely to its braided varieties – both old and new, the new “Braid Shop” catalog spans 36 pages featuring more than 25 braided and woven collections. They range from early American and rustic designs, such as Americana , American Legacy and Bear Creek , to modern interpretations like Bayview , a dual-textured eye-catcher, and Songbird , a contemporary design inspired by vintage tableware.
Set to launch this week at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, Jan. 11-15, the catalog also spotlights several new braided rugs collection introductions, including New Homestead , a braided collection that pays homage to a signature braided design the company first created in 1917, and Yorktowne , an updated version of one of Capel’s best-selling braided rugs from the 1980s.
Capel Rugs has been domestically producing braided rugs since 1917, when founded A. Leon Capel converted his plowline company into a rug manufacturer. While the company’s offering has expanded over the past century with a broad range of area rug constructions and qualities, including hand tufted, flat woven, hand knotted and machine woven, braids remain the cornerstone of Capel Rugs’ business.
"Braids are our bread and butter, so we wanted to highlight our flagship product by showcasing our braided rugs in their very own catalog and shop," said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts.
Capel Rugs’ Atlanta showroom is located in Building 1, space 3-C-15 at the AmericasMart.
