Zoned Quilt Technology helps eliminate body impressions, company says

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Mattress producer Eclipse International said it has received a patent on its new Zoned Quilt Technology feature.
That new technology uses a "densified quilt pattern" to eliminate body impressions and provide additional support in the center third of the mattress. The zoned quilt pattern features pre-compressed cushioning that adds durability, the company said.
Designed to work with Eclipse's original Spinal Zone technology, the new patented feature boosts the Eclipse line of bedding, officials said. This is the fifth patent received by Eclipse.
"At Eclipse, we are continually working on new technologies to enhance our mattresses," said Jason Hagman, a chiropractor who serves as executive vice president of Eclipse. "We have always understood that a mattress plays a critical role in the quality of our customers' sleep and ultimately their health. This patent adds a new level of support and comfort in the area of the body commonly associated with back pain. In addition, the technology will help to prevent breakdown and improve the longevity of the mattress itself."
