Brandsource unveils new Web platform

Furniture to be added to catalogs in coming months

ANAHEIM, Calif. — AVB/BrandSource buying group has unveiled a new Web platform it said will enhance the online experience for both customers and members.

The new BrandSource.com allows shoppers to browse through image-rich appliance and/or electronics catalogs and get detailed model features and specs, information on pricing including "request a quote" options and use its lead generator to connect with their local BrandSource member's website or store.

Within the next few months, BrandSource will be adding furniture to member product catalogs with a button that directs customers to "Find Your Closest Store," said Mike Allen, BrandSource vice president of home furnishings. The group plans to roll out the feature at its annual convention in August.

The website was designed to make the online shopping experience fast and easy, according to a press release from the company. One-page checkout offers registration, the latest e-commerce applications, installation, delivery and warranty options, as well as a secure payment gateway.

BrandSource.com also offers members instant access to searched terms, product reviews, product specifications, customer reviews and even an update on the most viewed products. A store locator on BrandSource.com drives traffic to member stores.

"Our new Web platform offers robust, world-class technology designed to keep members competitive," said BrandSource CEO Bob Lawrence. "It's designed to help elevate their profile and drive both online sales and in-store traffic."

Other website features include search engine optimization and a customization and administration panel where members can determine which items to include in their online catalog and store customer emails, among other things.

BrandSource is offering three options-from a "Pro Website" allowing complete control over site management to a scaled down "Gold Website" marketed toward small and midsized stores.
