Showtime shows its colors

It’s 100% wool on a cotton base, and is $75 a yard.HIGH POINT — The International Textile Market Assn.'s Showtime is under way here with a continuation of bold colors and fabrics that reflect the use of less cotton due to shortages and higher pricing.

ITMA said more than 800 buying companies attend the semiannual show from markets as diverse as apparel, furniture, hospitality, interior design, top of bed and transportation.

Buyers see exhibitors from mills, converters, tanneries and trimming manufacturers that supply decorative coverings for the home furnishings inventory.

Scheduled events include a fashion show and opening reception at 5:30 Monday in the Century Courtyard and the seminars "Swarovski Elements" and "Going Global ... Business Beyond Borders."

New from Big Kanuna Home's Artisan collection is Baker Stripe, which takes inspiration from vintage grain sacks and is woven from ECO cotton yarn in currant (shown), denim, hemp, linen and oat. It coordinates with Marseilles, also shown, a subtle medallion ECO cotton woven on a herringbone stria ground in currant (shown), parchment, linen, wheat and chambray.

Home Fabrics by Wesley Mancini will show Cascatta in the colorway Annatto, at $20 a yard. 

Valdese Weavers' Rashida is a transitional floral design in woven flax yarn in the ground and lustrous rayon creating the floral pattern. Its composition is 36% poly, 30% rayon, 29% cotton and 5% flax, and it sells for $19 a yard.

Mitchell's Satin Ribbon, in a new polyurethane contemporary pattern, layers embroidered design and print to create a detailed tonal surface effect. It's offered in goldenrod, copper, khaki, ivory, maroon and onyx (shown). 

De Leo is featuring its Groome Velvet line of 34 solid colors composed of polyester/acrylic with a slub yarn for texture.

Regal's Nomad Black takes a new twist on the traditional suzani design in five colors. It's 100% polyester and sells for $10.95 a yard. 

TFA's Plumage, made of 68.7% polyester and 31.3% rayon, is priced at $17.95 a yard.

The Kaleidoscope Crayon for Gum Tree Fabrics by Kim Grimsley Designs is a transitional marbleized paper pattern that can be used as both a statement or an accent. Content is 76% rayon and 24% polyester, and the price is $10.95 a yard. 

Circa 1801's new design, Marchez, is in Pantone's color of the year, honeysuckle, and runs $22 a yard.

Se7en USA's Mariposa features a butterfly design in cornflower and is 16% polyester and 84% cotton. It sells for $19.95 a yard.

Lady Fabrics will showcase French Wrinkle with 100% natural and sustainable Uber Lux qualities that deliver a soft hand and great performance, the company says. Available in an array of hues, French Wrinkle is certified safe by Oeko-tex.
