MONROE, MICH. - La-Z-Boy Inc. has promoted R. Rand Tucker to the newly created position of vice president and general counsel of the company. He has been the company's corporate counsel since 2000.
In his new position, Tucker will be responsible for overseeing all of the company's legal and environmental affairs.
"In addition to having a wealth of experience in various legal and environmental issues, he understands our company, our industry and the legal obligations and ramifications of today's business climate," said Kurt Darrow, La-Z-Boy president and CEO. "With this appointment, the coordination of the company's legal, compliance and environmental practices will be streamlined, allowing for enhanced communication in all areas going forward."

ATLANTA - Havertys has promoted B. Gregory Davis to vice president of information technology development and Gary R. Niedermeyer to assistant vice president, supply chain.
Davis joined Havertys in 1990 and has been assistant vice president, information systems development, since 2004. He is responsible for all systems and applications used by Havertys and reports to Ed Clary, chief information officer and senior vice president, distribution.
Niedermeyer has held a variety of positions in distribution operations since joining Havertys in 1987, and has been director of supply chain in 2009. He is responsible for inventory flow and logistics and reports to Scott Miles, vice president, stores and development.
Havertys is a full-service home furnishings retailer with 118 showrooms in 17 states in the South and Midwest.

AMBLER, PA. - Tommy Leflein, Lexington Home Brands representative for Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, has been named executive vice president/activities chairman and board member of the Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn.
He also has been added to the City of Hope's organizing committee for its inaugural Northeast region event Sept. 17, honoring Simon Kaplan of Crest Furniture in Dayton, N.J. Crest operates Value City Furniture and Ashley Furniture HomeStores in the state.
Leflein also is a vice president and board member for the Metropolitan Furnishings Assn. of New Jersey and the Greater New York Home Furnishings Assn. - both industry organizations of retailers, supplier representatives and other industry leaders.

HIGH POINT - Pat Rosser has been named director of operations for Culp Home Fashions, the company's mattress fabrics division.
He has responsibility for the Culp Home Fashions' warehouse, shipping and receiving, sample department, customer service, weave room planning and general operations management. He reports to Robert G. Culp IV, president of Culp Home Fashions.
Rosser previously worked as operations coordinator for Culp Home Fashions. Before joining the company, he was a sales executive at High Point retailers Rose Furniture and Furnitureland South, and was vice president of sales for 12 Ashley Furniture HomeStores.

MAIDEN, N.C. - Tarbee Wright, recently promoted to sales manager for upholstery manufacturer Parker Southern, was named the company's top producer in a ceremony at the April High Point Market. In addition to his management duties, Wright also represents the company in North Carolina and Georgia.
Paul Fowler was recognized for outstanding sales increases in his territories of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
Steve Baldwin received an award for 25 years of outstanding ser vice to upholstery producer Temple Furniture, a sister company of Parker Southern. He represents Temple in New England and upstate New York. His father, the late Bill Baldwin, also represented the company for many years.Biehler
Temple also recognized Fowler and two other sales reps, Steve McGuirk (Michigan) and Dave Biehler (Virginia, Maryland and Delaware) for sales increases and new accounts in their territories.
