Klaussner Home Furnishings to close plant in Iowa
Will consolidate in North Carolina to gain efficiencies

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Klaussner Home Furnishings said today that it plans to close its upholstery plant in Iowa and move production to its North Carolina facilities in an effort to gain continued efficiencies.
The move will centralize all operations in North Carolina. The company operates nine manufacturing facilities in the state, including a foam fabrication plant, a 200,000-square-foot warehouse for case goods and Enso mattresses and a frame shop.
"Our Iowa facility was purchased in 1986 and has served our company and customers well for many years," said Bill Wittenberg, president and CEO. "We regret the impact this move will have on the personnel in our Milford plant. The transition of this move will be seamless in an effort to continue to serve our customers in a timely manner."
The Iowa plant was used for producing stationary and motion furniture. It was originally used to produce the Stylecraft brand.
"Logistically, North Carolina has long been the hub of the furniture industry and this move allows us to flow all our goods from this location to all points of the country and abroad," Wittenberg said.
Klaussner also once operated factories in Mississippi and California.
