Firefighters respond to two-alarm fire at Thornwood warehouse
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 22, 2011
PHOENIX — The cause of a two-alarm fire at a 164,000-square-foot Thornwood Furniture Mfg. warehouse here was unclear on Tuesday, according to a report by ABC affiliate KNXV-TV here.
The report said firefighters found an active fire in at least two paint booths in the warehouse.
The warehouse has suppressant equipment that helped to contain the fire, the report said. Two employees who tried to fight the fire were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Thornwood has been operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy since last year and was extended a ninth order to use cash collateral in the case earlier this month, according to court documents. The court also gave it permission to file an order for additional debtor in possession financing.
