NEW LONDON, N.C. — Designers for furniture manufacturers Stanley, Century and Bernhardt will vie for this year's Pinnacle Awards in the major collections category, the American Society of Furniture Designers announced today.

Finalists in 16 categories were selected last week by this year's Pinnacle judges, who met in High Point University's Norton Hall.

The finalists will be honored, and the winners of the 16th annual Pinnacle Awards will be announced at an awards banquet Oct. 24 during the fall High Point Market.

"The judges were impressed by the quantity and quality of entries for this year's competition and they did an outstanding job in the process," said Steve Hodges, chairman of ASFD's Pinnacle Committee. "We appreciate and thank them for their participation."

"The annual Pinnacle Awards provide us the opportunity of recognizing the work of talented designers, and are a great way for our industry to honor companies which support and encourage originality of thought and design innovation," said ASFD President Dudley Moore Jr. of Otto & Moore in High Point. "We wish to acknowledge and express our sincere gratitude for the continued support of our great Pinnacle sponsors and supporters."
