2009 antidumping review results delayed until Aug. 9
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, July 13, 2011
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Commerce said today that it will not release the final results of the 2009 administrative review in the wood bedroom furniture case for another 30 days. The DOC released the preliminary results of the annual review in early February and the final results were scheduled to be released in early June. However, the department is taking a 60-day extension as allowed by law.
The DOC said it is delaying the release of the results so that it may consider additional comments concerning a Chinese producer, Zhangjiagang Zheng Yan Decoration Co. Ltd.
The final results are now expected to be released Aug. 9.
The review covers 2009 shipments of wooden bedroom furniture from China. The duties, which are meant to help level the playing field for U.S. producers injured by unfairly priced imports, are assigned to the Chinese factories, and paid by importers of record of those goods.
