Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, July 19, 2011
NEW YORK - Sandow Media, parent company of Furniture/ Today, Interior Design and other home furnishings publications, has acquired Events International, a global marketing firm that reaches exclusive audiences through fully integrated luxury event solutions.
The purchase is an addition to Sandow's experiential platform, which currently includes Gen Art, producers of fashion, film, art and music events that are designed to showcase up-and-coming talents.
Under Sandow, Events International will be renamed Curator Events and brought in under the Worth group, the business and finance magazine of the ultra-affluent.
Curator Events will continue producing high-end interactive experiences within the luxury brand community by targeting and connecting with affluent audiences through a multifaceted approach to event planning and execution, which includes print and digital media, local outreach, social integration and experimental activities.
"This acquisition is an important step for us," said Adam Sandow, chairman and CEO of Sandow Media. "Events International has unmatched expertise as a premier luxury event solution for high net worth individuals who seek a unique experience. This will complement and enhance the mission and offerings of the Worth group and its future developments."
Timothy P. McGrane, president and CEO of Events International, has been named events and business development director of Worth Media Group.
The premiere event, called Curator, will feature worldclass luxury products and services and will be held Oct. 26-27 during the 2011 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Upcoming 2012 events are already slated for San Diego, New York, Chicago and Dallas.
