Lavezzi was president of specialty sleep producer InnoMax Corp., based here, from 1975 until 2000. He was a co-founder of the company.
InnoMax officials said that under Lavezzi's tutelage, the company developed a strong position in the airbed and waterbed categories by introducing a number of new technologies. They said the company also developed a one-source supply concept that enabled retailers to consolidate purchases of mattresses, components, linens, solid wood bedroom furniture and other bedroom items, thereby boosting their profits.
"He lived by the mantra that dealers wanted to be kept competitive, to be supplied in a timely manner, and to be kept informed not only of the status of their own transactions, but to the ever-changing nature of the bedding industry as well," the company said in a statement.
Lavezzi is survived by his wife, four children and 10 grandchildren.
