LAS VEGAS — Specialty sleep veterans Michael Nermon and John Shaw are opening an Ergo Bedroom showroom here. They say the multi-use showroom in World Market Center C-184 will be open year-round to the public, and will be open to the trade during market weeks. The company will hold a ribbon cutting at the new showroom Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
"The Ergo Bedroom showroom establishes a new model for manufacturers to market their bedding products in a more conducive environment," said Nermon, who runs Ergo Customized Comfort, a bedroom store in Irvine, Calif. "The support we have received from our suppliers and the World Market Center has been tremendous. Everyone is working together to create an ideal setting that all facets of the marketplace can enjoy: Suppliers, retailers, designers and consumers."
Two high-end lines are featured in the showroom this market: Carpe Diem Beds of Sweden and Vi-Spring Beds from England. Representatives of the companies are at market to present the lines.
Vi-Spring's new lines emphasize a commitment to the best bedding materials, company officials said. Among the new products: An all wool-fill mattress that uses only Shetland Isle wool.
"Ergo Bedroom is providing a destination for true luxury level bedding products," Nermon said. "This is not the faux-luxury type of products that have been appearing on the U.S. bedding scene over the past several years. These beds are the ‘real deal' from companies that have worldwide recognition as the leading luxury brands."
John Shaw, who joined Nermon in starting Ergo Customized Comfort in 2001, was instrumental in developing its specialty sleep model in the early years of the business. He now lives in Las Vegas and will manage the Ergo Bedroom store at the WMC.
