CONOVER, N.C. - Upholstery veteran Frank Cooper has joined mid-priced to high-end upholstery manufacturer Southern Furniture here as president.
He succeeds Jerome W. Bolick, who has held the position of president and also has chaired the Southern board since former president Ken Church resigned in 2007. Bolick remains chairman and Cooper will report to him.
Cooper joins Southern after spending 14 years with Bernhardt, where he was vice president of upholstery sales and later executive vice president of residential upholstery. Before that, he was leather upholstery merchandising manager for Century Furniture, which had hired him as a sales representative in the New England area.
"Frank brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in upholstered furniture to our company," Bolick said. "He has been well received by all of the company management team, and he will have a tremendous positive impact on the future of our company."
