SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Nourison has signed an exclusive brand licensing agreement with Joseph Abboud, a division of JA Apparel Corp, New York, according to a press release from the floor covering company.
The program will include powerloom woven and handmade rugs in a full range of sizes and styles, Nourison reported. The rugs will reflect the Joseph Abboud brand and be made at Nourison's manufacturing facilities in Asia. The first collection will be launched at the Oct. High Point Market.
"Joseph Abboud represents a timeless elegance, refinement, quality and classic style, which are also attributes that define the Nourison brand," said Alex Peykar, principal at Nourison. "I am confident that their brand recognition and appeal, coupled with our expertise in rug technology, manufacturing and distribution will lead to a successful program that will be beneficial to both companies."
The licensing agreement will expand Nourison's portfolio of products into contemporary, high fashion that is characteristic of the Joseph Abboud brand, according to Nourison. JA Creative Director Bernardo Rojo will work closely with the Nourison development team on the design rug collection.
"We're delighted to work with a company that has established itself as a leader in the global floor covering industry," said Kenton Selvey, president of JA Apparel Corp. "Nourison's manufacturing abilities combined with their focus on quality product and superior service is unparalleled. This partnership underscores our strategy to work with best-in-class licensees as the Joseph Abboud brand continues to expand."
