Cefili leaves Furniture First; Kauffman named CEO
April 18, 2017,
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Furniture First promoted Andrew Kauffman to CEO this week following the resignation of Dino Cefili from the post last week, its third chief in just under two years.
There are no immediate plans to fill that position.
Furniture First Chairman Art Scholet, owner of Scholet Furniture, sent a message to members commending Kauffman’s performance and outlining the board’s priorities for Kauffman’s new role, according to a release. They included “growing membership, strengthening vendor partnerships, expanding the Mattress 1 st retail store program, increasing Tools 2B First enrollment, and developing performance groups for the members of Furniture First,” the group said.
Kauffman will be attending the High Point Market, in and out of the Furniture First showroom space G-770 in the International Home Furnishings Center.
He replaced former Furniture First President Bill Hartman, who resigned in May 2015.
Furniture First members generate combined annual sales of more than $2 billion and operate 469 stores in 47 states. The group will host its Annual Symposium, May 15-17, at the JW Marriott in Phoenix.
