Glideaway Mattresses Gain Eco-Friendly Seal
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, August 25, 2011
ST. LOUIS - Specialty sleep manufacturer Glideaway Sleep Products said its sleep-harmony Bliss, Classic, Renew, Serenity and Tranquility mattresses will all feature CertiPUR-US approved flexible polyurethane foams and will carry the CertiPUR-US certification seal.
The company said it sought certification in response to consumers seeking clearer guidance when shopping for environmentally friendly mattresses.
"As more and more consumers become environmentally conscious, the materials used in the products they buy become equally as important," said Ron Fredman, Glideaway's executive vice president of sales. "By seeing the CertiPUR-US seal on Glideaway mattresses, environmentally conscious consumers can feel confident knowing that some of the components used to make the sleepharmony collections are not only comfortable but have also passed strict environmental, health and safety standards."
The CertiPUR-US program is a voluntary testing, analysis and certification program that was developed by members of the foam industry. Items that carry the CertiPURUS seal contain flexible polyurethane foam products that have been tested and certified by an independent laboratory to be sure they meet the strict standards of the program for physical performance, indoor emissions and environmental stewardship, officials said.
