Schwartz Joins Zenith as VP
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, August 25, 2011
CONOVER, N.C. - Furniture supply chain company Zenith Global Logistics has hired 3PL sales and management professional Douglas Schwartz for the newly created position of vice president, business development.
He will be responsible for managing service to national accounts.
"Although many single-store retailers and small chains are at the heart of our business, we've grown to the point where we really needed a results-oriented individual focusing exclusively on the needs of national accounts," Jack Hawn, Zenith Global Logistics president and CEO, said in a press release.
"Doug Schwartz brings to our customers a broad background in third-party logistics from general commodities to home furnishings. He's completely tuned in to best practices along the entire supply chain, whether that's ‘dot. com' distribution and fulfillment services such as pick, pack and ship or international storage and consolidation operations originating from Asia."
Schwartz will report to Hawn. Before joining Zenith, Schwartz helped establish Magnussen Logistics for furniture importer Magnussen Home, which operates a warehouse in Vietnam. He has worked in home furnishings for about 10 years and has been in the 3PL industry for about 16 years.
