National Sleep Foundation, Fabrictech to distribute educational materials

David Perry -- Furniture Today, August 25, 2011

WASHINGTON — Expanding its commitment to the sleep products industry, the National Sleep Foundation has partnered with mattress and pillow protector manufacturer Fabrictech International to distribute sleep and health education materials.

The NSF, a sleep education and advocacy group based here, began an educational program with mattress major Serta earlier this year. Serta's flagship Perfect Sleeper line, introduced in February in Las Vegas, was designed with input from the NSF and carries an NSF brochure.
Now the NSF expands its educational push with a partnership with Fabrictech, the Cedar Grove, N.J.-based sleep accessories producer.

"Fabrictech is at the forefront of the sleep products industry and we're excited to be working with them to educate Americans about sleep health and safety and how to make the most of their bedroom environment," said David Cloud, CEO of the National Sleep Foundation. "Controlling nighttime allergies is a great way to improve your sleep."

Fabrictech's PureCare brand, which provides allergen, moisture, dust mite and bed bug protection, will now include an NSF educational brochure in all products and the packages will feature the NSF logo.

"Fabrictech is proud to be working with the National Sleep Foundation," said Jeff Bergman, Fabrictech's president and COO. "The National Sleep Foundation brand represents quality sleep and our core focus is to protect the well-being of the sleeper by creating a healthier sleep environment. This partnership makes perfect sense and we are excited to join forces with the National Sleep Foundation to educate the public on better sleep."

Fabrictech's PureCare products are available in mattress retailers and specialty sleep shops.

The NSF is dedicated to improving sleep health and safety through education, public awareness and advocacy. Its annual Sleep in America poll attracts widespread media attention. The foundation is a charitable, educational and scientific not-for-profit organization.

NSF officials have said they want to work with companies in the sleep products industry to expand the reach of their educational programs by joining forces with producers focused on sleep and health issues.
