The partnership promises to bring a new look to a family-owned, fourth generation company that has evolved from its upholstery roots into a vendor also known for laid-back wicker and rattan furniture, outdoor furniture and case goods.

"We see the decision to partner with Libby Langdon to produce a licensed furniture collection as a bold marketing move that will both broaden our product offerings and introduce our company to a new and growing constituencies of customers," said Braxton Culler, president of the company.

Set for introduction at the October High Point Market, the new collection will include sofas and occasional chairs, as well as upholstered headboards, benches, ottomans and dining chairs. In all, there will be 14 to 16 pieces with more planned over the next three markets, according to Culler.

He said the collection will depart from the company's usual design approach with a higher-end look, taller exposed legs, more defined lines and standard down-wrapped foam cushions. It will be in the upper-medium price points, slightly higher than the company's current line.

"Stylistically speaking, the collection reflects the needs and desires of my clients. It's easy and elegant for everyday," said Landon. "The key words are sleek, transitional and clean-lined. Time after time, I find that my clients don't want anything too modern, but they do like fresh, updated silhouettes that are not too fussy or formal."

Langdon is a veteran of makeover television, from HGTV's "Small Space, Big Style" to Fox's "Design Invasion." She is currently Rachael Ray's go-to makeover specialist on the "Rachael Ray Show" and "day-kover" expert on NBC's "Open House."

"Libby saw a need in our product line for an upper-end look aimed at younger customers," said Brack Culler. "We knew that her talent, combined with her fun, down-to-earth style, which allows her to connect immediately with people, would be a terrific fit for our family-run business."

Langdon said that makeover television has allowed her to see people all over the country and to find out what goes on in real people's lives, and has been an invaluable learning tool.

"It's fascinating to see that there are common threads between my makeover clients and my private clients, and all that information has helped me in developing my furniture collection," she added.
