Exclusive Research: Top 25 Furniture and Bedding Retailers
Furniture, bedding stores' 2010 gains outpace rivals
Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, August 29, 2011

Top 25 Retailers
The nation's largest retailers specializing in home furnishings and bedding - or at least counting on these categories for the primary chunk of their overall sales - were in command in 2010, with sales increases that outpaced those of top department stores and other more varied merchandise rivals.
The Ashley Furniture HomeStores network, which regained its crown as the largest furniture and bedding retailer in 2009, held onto that No. 1 position with estimated 2010 sales of $2.3 billion, up 12.4% from the year before.
Furniture Today's exclusive survey of the Top Retail Giants ranks the Top 25 U.S. furniture and bedding retailers. Companies are ranked according to their estimated 2010 sales of furniture and bedding. Decorative accessory sales, including lamps, area rugs, wall décor and mirrors, are excluded. Decorative accessory sales were included in the Top 100 U.S. Furniture Stores Ranking, published in Furniture Today's May 23, 2011, issue.
