Tupelo Market honors Boscov's, two Arkansas reps
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 3, 2011
TUPELO, Miss. — Boscov's Department Store and a pair of Arkansas sales representatives were honored at the Tupelo Furniture Market.
Boscov's, a 39-store chain based in Reading, Pa., won the 45th National Buyer Appreciation Award, while sales reps Art Henriksen and Hank Griffin took home the Manufacturer's Representative Award.
Senior furniture buyer Ditlef Wergeland and recliner buyer Amanda Bowen accepted the buyer award on behalf of Boscov's. The retailer, which has about $30 million in furniture sales annually, routinely shops in Tupelo because of the outstanding values and product selection available from the market's upholstery exhibitors, Wergeland said.
Henriksen and Griffin, who are brothers-in-law, have worked in the furniture industry for more than 40 years. They currently are reps for Dallas-based mattress producer Sleeptronic/King Koil.
