FORT SMITH, Ark. - Case goods resource Riverside Furniture said last week that President Fred Henjes will succeed Howard J. "Buddy" Spradlin as CEO and also will hold a seat on the company's board.
Spradlin will remain chairman of the board.
Henjes joined the company as a sales representative in 1989 and was later promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing.
He became president in March 2010.
In addition to being involved in product design and development, he also has been central to the company's sourcing in Asia for the past 15 years, the company said.
"Fred's knowledge of the industry and his proven sales and marketing skills, combined with his leadership ability, will make him a valuable addition to the board," Spradlin said in a statement. "This appointment, along with his ownership position in the company, should also insure the future growth and prospects for the company under his direction."
