Veteran sales rep, Donald J. McCartin, dies at 85

SPRING HILL, Fla. — Donald J. McCartin, 85, passed away on May 10 at his home in Spring Hill, Fla.

Born in Flushing, N.Y., he lived in Matawan, N.J., for many years prior to moving here.

McCartin served his country in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement, Mr. McCartin was a manufacturer’s representative for almost 50 years for companies such as Custom American Furniture, Brown Street Furniture, Ohio Table Pad Co., Southern Craftsmen's Guild, Thomasville, Hitchcock Chair co., Morganton Chair Co. and Masterfield Furniture.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carol McCartin. He is survived by his wife, Arline Loures, as well as by three sons, one daughter, seven grandchildren, one sister and many nieces and nephews.
