WELLBORN, Texas - Furniture Source International, which sells hand-made solid wood furniture and leather upholstery, is adding its first line of eco-friendly fabric upholstery called Tailor Made.
The collection, which includes European-inspired classic frames upholstered in neutral fabrics, will debut at the High Point Market in October. It will include eight frames in the $999 to $1,299 retail price points and 12 fabric options, mostly 100% cotton or linen blends.
The company has been in the leather upholstery business for 10 years, manufacturing in Europe. In addition to the new fabric covers, the company also will be introducing North American-made leather upholstery frames with Italian leather hides.
FSI said the new fabric collection provides casual, designer- ready seating options that will integrate with the traditional, transitional and casually modern home. The upholstery will be made in North Carolina.
The collection will follow the company's green practices with certified CertiPUR- US low emission foam, regenerated synthetic fiber and feather blend cushioning, 95% recycled steel mechanisms, and total sourcing from within a 50-mile radius of the manufacturing facility.
Construction also includes hand-assembled and double-doweled frames made of Sustainable Forestry Initiative-certified wood, sinuous wire suspension seats, Webb suspension backs, with a lifetime frame warranty. The company also says it delivers in under four weeks and offers "reasonable" minimum order options.
"In light of the present economy, people are enjoying the comfort of their homes more and seeking affordable ways to give them a new life without undertaking expensive renovations," said Trey Baumgarner, president. "As with all our North American hand-made furniture, we think our new domestically master crafted and eco-friendly collection provides comfortable and distinctive furniture options that add a fresh, feel good and sophisticated presence."
