Levin Furniture draws crowd to new store in Greensburg, Pa.

Levin Furniture’s new Greensburg, Pa., showroom features this youth bedroom Fairy Room, brightly accessorized and featuring goods from Legacy Classic and Holland House.	The new Chesterfield collection from Natuzzi Editions is packaged with tables, lamps, accessories and a rug in what has been a showstopper vignette at the new Greensburg, Pa. store.

Point-of-purchase materials and the logo were designed collaboratively by Levin and Lane.

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Levin Furniture drew a crowd to its new store here in an event that raised money for charity.

The Smithton, Pa.-based Top 100 company grand opened its seventh Pittsburgh-area showroom, a 53,000-square-foot store at the Westmoreland Mall, this past weekend. The store is Levin's 16th overall in its Pittsburgh-area and Ohio markets.

President Robert Levin said the opening was more of a "to do" than most for the retailer, with lots of community involvement, giveaways and displays of sports cars and a fire truck. The company also donated $5,000 each to the local food bank, the Red Cross of Western Pennsylvania and the local fire department.

Levin's one-day Saturday sale was strong, he said, as the store drew some 3,500 consumers through the doors that day. Grand opening promotions are continuing for the next week and a half. He declined to disclose sales projection for the new store.

Among the Saturday events at the store was an "Adopt-a-Pet Day," a crafts table, blood pressure screening by Mutual Aid EMS, free snow cones and cookies for children and other free food.

Levin is No. 40 on Furniture/Today's Top 100 with estimated 2010 furniture, bedding and accessories sales of $145.9 million.
